The episode, titled “The Vanishing Footprints,” focuses on the sinister plans of Lata and the manifestation of Tara’s own spiritual sensitivity.
The Vision of the Holy Ghat
The episode opens with Noyon waking up in a cold sweat. She has had a premonition of a shadow looming over Tara near the banks of the Ganga. This vision is linked to her own near-death experience a few days prior. She rushes to Tara’s room, only to find the window open and a trail of wet, muddy footprints leading away from the bed—despite no one having been outside in the rain.
Lata’s Manipulation
Lata, still smarting from her failed attempt to drown Noyon, realizes that Noyon’s strength comes from her bond with her daughter. She meets with the corrupt Gurudev in secret. They plan to “neutralize” Noyon by trapping Tara’s soul in an ancient copper vessel, believing that without her daughter’s purity to ground her, Noyon’s medium powers will turn chaotic and destroy her from within.
Surjo’s Scientific Conflict
Dr. Surjo finds Noyon frantically searching the Pari Mahal grounds. While he wants to support her, his rational mind struggles with her claims of “spirit footprints.” However, his skepticism is shaken when he checks the security footage: the cameras show Tara’s bedroom door opening and closing on its own, with no visible person entering or leaving. For the first time, Surjo begins to consider that the danger isn’t just physical, but metaphysical.
The Climax: The Mirror of Shadows
The episode ends with a chilling discovery in the mansion’s attic. Noyon follows a faint humming sound to find Tara sitting in front of a dust-covered, antique mirror. Tara isn’t looking at her own reflection; she is talking to a figure that looks exactly like a younger version of Shaoli (Surjo’s deceased ex-fiancée). As Noyon reaches out to pull Tara away, the “reflection” grabs Tara’s hand from inside the glass. The final shot is of the mirror cracking as Noyon screams, “Leave my daughter alone!”
Major Highlights
- The Ghostly Trail: Eerie muddy footprints appear inside the sealed mansion, signaling a breach by a supernatural entity.
- The Remake Twist: The show continues to follow the Trinayani roots but adds the “Ghostly Double” arc for Tara.
- Surjo’s Dilemma: Surjo’s reliance on logic begins to crumble as he witnesses unexplained phenomena on camera.
- Shaoli’s Return: The ghost of Shaoli appears to be targeting Tara to settle old scores with Noyon and Surjo.
Precap for Tomorrow:
Noyon manages to break the mirror, but Tara falls into a deep, trance-like sleep from which she won’t wake up. Ghorkamini (Sudha Chandran) arrives at the house and reveals that Tara’s soul has been pulled into the “Aina-Lok” (Mirror Dimension). She tells Noyon that the only way to bring her back is to enter the mirror herself before the final crack heals at dawn.
