Adit’s Shocking Return
The episode opens with Mangal (Deepika Singh) preparing for a family function to celebrate Ishana’s academic success. Having been missing and presumed away for 5 years, his sudden appearance sends Sudesh and Kusum into a state of shock. Lakshmi’s Confrontation with Jiya
Parallel to the drama at Mangal’s house, Lakshmi is dealing with her own fires. After discovering Jiya’s earring in Karan’s room, Lakshmi confronts Jiya. In a heated argument, Jiya mockingly reveals that she never left Karan’s life. However, Lakshmi, no longer the timid girl she once was, gives Jiya a stern warning. To everyone’s surprise, it is revealed that Lakshmi accidentally (or perhaps intentionally) set fire to Jiya’s room in a previous altercation, and Jiya is now playing the victim card to gain Karan’s sympathy.
The “New” Adit?
Adit claims he has changed and spent his years in isolation reflecting on his mistakes. However, his “irascible” nature flashes briefly when he sees how much authority Mangal now holds in the house. He attempts to reclaim his “spot” as the head of the family, but Kusum intervenes, standing firmly by Mangal. She tells Adit that the Mangal he left behind 15 years ago is dead, and the woman in front of him is the pillar of this house.
The Climax: A Secret Bag
The episode ends with Mangal finding a mysterious gold chain and a set of keys in Adit’s bag while she is helping him settle in. The chain has a pendant with initials that don’t belong to Mangal or Saumya. This raises immediate suspicions that Adit’s return isn’t out of love, but out of a hidden, perhaps dangerous, necessity. The final shot is of Mangal looking at the chain with tears in her eyes, wondering if her nightmare is starting all over again.
